The final Episode

33 castaways were marooned on a deserted Asian isle, and after 38 weeks we are finally down to the final 2. Before the final 2 survivor approaches the tribal council area for the final time, it is a survivor custom that they have to make a tribute to their fallen survivors. The very same beach 38 weeks ago which they landed upon are now lined with 19 torches. As they approach they read out the names of people who have shared this journey of Asia with them.

Round 1- 13 Unknown castaways were mauled by sharks.

Round 2 – Graham Loveless falls in the first challenge.

Round 3 – Greekfrk lost in the race for rice.

This is how it will work:

1. Have both Sadielady and Jiljos making an opening statement.

2. Then you the jury members will be able to ask a question/comment to them.

3. And the 2 will then make their closing statements.

Please wait for my cue for these actions, thanks.

Deadline for opening statements Friday 2nd December .

My Opening Statement: (SadieLady)

1st of all thank you to arien, Jadzia & mewannawin. You created a fun & exciting game.

2nd: I won't ask you to vote for me or Jill. The game is to outwit, outplay & outlast. Jill & I teamed up in the very beginning. I made one promise in the whole game & that was to take Jill to the final 2, & she promised me the same. I cast the vote that took Jill to the final 2. Weather come in 1st or 2nd I feel like I have already won.

Those of you on the Jury have played very well all are winners also.

Jill & I plotted from the very beginning. We had a list of who would go next, & we out-witted all of you, which is a feat to its self.

The only person I could not beat was AVH, that was why you were kept to the final 4, AVH you were are a great player, & you are a player I still want to beat one day, maybe I will.

If you haven't figured it out by now Jill & I had 2 alliances going. There was a vote I think when Hyde was to be voted out, & the girls alliance didn't vote the way they said they would, & it was a mixed up vote, we didn't know who we could trust in the girls group, that was when we decided to stick with AVH & chuck. Taps I feel like you harbor hard feelings towards me, I am sorry that you feel that way, its a game. I still consider you a friend, you sent flowers to my fathers funeral, for that I will always be grateful thank you. I still consider you a friend & I hope we can work things out.

survivor is a game, when I play a game I play to win. Even here @ home playing cards, etc, I always play to win, though I don't always win, I just play again & laugh it off.

So when you the jury go to cast your vote. vote from your heart , like I said in the beginning I won't ask you to vote for me or Jill.

So let your questions begin, after Jills statement.

Thank you, Sadielady (Shell)

This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Here goes: (Jiljos)

As Sadie said, we got together about the first week of the game.  We never knew each other before this.  We formed an alliance of four girls (taps and Fraqr) and hoped to go to the final four with us four.  During that time Sadie or I (sorry I can't remember) was approached by Chuck to form an alliance, which we did separate from the girls alliance.  We needed more then those 4 votes for tribal council, so after Random quit the game we had enough.  Chuck did not know about our alliance with Taps and Fraqr.

When the trade happened it was a scramble.  Two of the girls went to another tribe where they had their own struggles.  I united my 2 alliances and brought in 4th (AVH) so again the alliance had the votes it needed in the tribal councils.  We still planned to keep the original girls alliance until the final 4 (if we could after the split).

Unfortunately, someone told us (sadie and I) something that did not add up to our original plan with the 4 girls and doubt crept in. The two tribes were reunited and Sadie and I decided to keep Chuck and AVH with us. We kept Fraqr to the final 5 and it was hard to vote her out....Taps,  Epo had said you told her you knew the final three and since we had never talked about a final three we thought you, Epo and someone else had an alliance without us. That is what happened to the all girl thing we started.  You made those great websites which I still laugh at thinking of Chuck in the hula cheerleading outfit!  I apologize if we had it figured wrong, so much suspicion I guess.  Part of the game...

When we came to the final 4,  AVH you were the strongest by far I think and this is why you went next.  Chuck I know you said you and I to final 2 several times but I never agreed to that.  Sadie is the only one I ever said I would go to Final 2 with. I still can't believe we did it.  We did have a plan and I feel we followed it to the end.  I am not here because I am a great player, I just had a great plan with a good back up plan.  I guess that is the outwitting part.

Thanks to Arien and Jadzia and also the mystery player.   I had a lot of fun, met a lot of people, and had a great teacher (AVH) during a rough summer/fall.  Thanks for being so generous with the time limits when I needed more time.  I also won't ask for a vote between Sadie and I, we both played the game together and never doubted each other the entire game.  To get this far was enough of a win.  So now...time for the questions...please be gentle lol :)

And with that, it is the jury who now for the first time will interact with the 2.
Again how this will work is I will send out msgs to the jury and get them to send me direct their questions/comments to help them in their decision in casting the final vote.

hopefully I can get comments and questions from them by Sunday 4 December.

stay tuned...

ok the comments and questions are in.
For the first time in weeks, the jury will be able to address the 2 to help decide their vote for the winner.

***

First up, MrHyde

"Whose idea was it to vote me out and why?"

Jiljos:  MrHyde, I think it was a joint decision to vote you out, not just Sadie and I , but at that time we were still voting with Fraqr,Taps,AVH and Chuck and I think Epo as well. You were /are a strong player and a threat to win immunity. You were not in our alliance so I guess that made you next. Sadie, correct me please if I am wrong.

Sadie: To Mr. Hydes : Well I am not sure who Idea it was but you were on my list as the next to go only because your an excellant player, & I felt you were a threat in winning immunitys, & better to pick off the strong 1st

***

Tapistry, you are up next

"Comments: First, Congratulations to both Jiljos an Sadie for making it to the end. And a very special Thanks to arien, & jadzia for putting on the greatest Survivor Games ever. I had a great time and loved the fun games and all the history. Comment to Sadie: I don’t think anyone could doubt for a minute my loyalties to our old Harimau tribe members, first and foremost.! And truthfully, I doubted yours. Regarding you so called comment, “girls alliance didn’t vote the way they said they would”. Oh yes, we did, but there were 3 new members on the team and the and 9th vote was not counted and we discussed who we voted for as well. I don’t appreciate you using us “untrustworthy girls” to justify a change you made in your choices of alliances.. You had planned to remain in your current alliance right after the merge. juljos confirmed that in her statement. This is not personal, its just a game. Congratulations for making it to the final two."

Jiljos:  Taps, thank you for the congratulations. As I said before ,I am sorry we misjudged your alliance. Don has come forward and told me it was him who told Sadie (or myself...still can't remember who) that Epo told him you commented on the final three. I guess I didn't know you well enough at that time to 100% trust you ... Don was playing the game well and planted a seed of doubt. You can't blame him for that. I know it was a battle for you and Sadie after the trade and you both scrambled to stay afloat, a job well done. It was after that seed of doubt was planted and the merge that Sadie and I thought we had a better chance at fianl 4 with Chuck and AVH.

Sadie: To Taps : 1st thank you for the congrats. 2nd when the merge came along, I was still for the all girl alliance, it wasn't until Mr Hydes vote out that doubt crept in. If you have doubted my trust since the very very beginning then you never got to know me. & I am sure I am at some fault, I should have asked you more direct questions before I had you voted out, but the seeds of doubt was planted by whom am not real sure, after you were voted out, I tried to talk to you time & time again, & I may have tried before hand I don't remember, but you never responed to my questions, you just resigned from our game, I finally let it go. I never planned on remaining with AVH & chuck before the merge or after the merge it was the voting of Mr. hyde out, that left seeds of doubt in my & Jills mind, me & jill then decided that we could trust AVH & chuck to the final 4, after that it was luck & some skill.

Canuck Don, your turn to address the 2

"Here's my question: you both have expressed a willingness to play to win and I admire and respect that. Why have you each stopped playing to win now, in the final two?"

Jiljos:  Canuck Don, I feel fortunate to have made it to final 2. Yes I would like to win, but I can't say I deserve it more or less then Sadie. We both worked hard to get here. I don't think either of us could have done it without the other. Perhaps it was harder for Sadie since she was traded with Taps,I don't know all of what went on in the other tribe at that time. I had to scramble a bit but probably not as much. If I have to say I deserve to win more then Sadie because....I don't really know what to say.I know we each won at least one immunity, maybe she won more, maybe Arien or Jadzia could remind us. I know I tied with you for one and you won the tie breaker. I can honestly say that the hardest part of this game for me was voting people out,I know it is part of the game, but I didn't want anyone to take it personal. I have been able to remain friends with those I became friends with in this game and to me that was important.Hope this helps and isn't just a lot of rambling.

Sadie:  To Don: you ask why have we stopped playing to win now?? Are you sure we have stopped playing to win?? I like Jills answer to your question!! all I can say don if you vote for Jill were still friends, if you vote for me, were still friends & I'll get that ticket in the mail to real soon, so you can leave that cold Canada winter!! :)

***

Epo, its your turn

"i have no statement other than what a fine job that you and jadzia did and any others that helped in making such an interesting tournament. thank you for all of your hard work."

Jiljos:  Epo, I did not mean to imply that you made the remark about Taps and the final 3, I meant that we were told you said that. I think it was meant to place doubt and it did. I know now that you were not involved in that in any way, shape or form.

Sadie:  To epo: It was a joy to play you & a real fun player, a great player of backgammon. I do owe you a thank you, you saved me from being voting out of the bears. I look forward to playing you again sometime in the future.

***

Fraqr...

"Survivor Question: Describe for me how you think the opponent has the perfect blend of backgammon skill, integrity, and wit to succeed in this game and win."

Jiljos:  Fraqr, Sadie had the skill to win the final immunity. That was the most important one there was. She had to beat the bot just to get into the game. That took some skill as well. Many challenges required a mix of skill and luck and Sadie did a good job at them all.

in·teg·ri·ty ( P ) Pronunciation Key (n-tgr-t) n. Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. The state of being unimpaired; soundness. The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness.

Sadie showed integrity to me.She was honest and truthful through the whole game.I don't know her private conversations with others, but I know I trusted her without question. As for me, I don't think I ever lied. I did not always answer the question that I was asked. An example could be when you asked me who I was voting out and I said Taps wants to vote Don out. I did not say who I was voting for...or when Chuck told me he wanted to go to the final 2 with me..I just said that would be nice. I guess I implied what I did not mean . I think that Sadie made it to the final 2 proves that she outwitted. There were a lot of very good players in this game and we knew that without a plan it would be a tough go. Sadie approached me and I was all for being in an alliance. Without her,I would not be here typing this answers.

Sadie:  To Fraqr: wow great question. I don't know if it was the perfect blend, but it took luck as well. my rating has gone up & it has gone down, I must say it was hard voting you out, I know I wouldn't had made it to the final 2 without Jill, we planned a lot, & we talked on msn messager & made plans & we had our hit list as we called it, you we planned to take to the final 5 or 4, it depended on who won immunity that round & I beleive AVh won, so we voted you out, so it was skill, planning luck, & who got immunity that round!

***

you are next AVH

"Question to both, Pick a number between 1 and 10"

Jiljos:  AVH..what, just one number, after I sent you all those cookies! How can I ever thank you for all the help, tips, and advice you gave me over this game (rating went from 1350 -1550) I am so glad I got to know you and that you even let me win some games against you (heehee) Oh, I pick 3 :)

Sadie:  To Avh: WELL A NUMBER WELL i'D HAVE TO SAY 18 cause that is the number of times you have beaten me, so if I count the one game that I won against you which was a anti game & take away 10 I will have to choose the number "7"

***

And finally Grandpa Chuck

"For Jill -  You had me totally believing we were together to the end. You played it great. Why do you deserve to be chosen over Sadie?

Jiljos:  Grandpa Chuck (how long are you going to have that grin on your face) You ask me why I deserve to win. I had a lot of fun but I also played the game to win. I was part of a strong alliance and yet others did not realize how strong I was in that alliance. I was not a follower, I was a partner and when on my own and had to work both sides of two alliances. You never knew about each other. I told each side I would talk to so and so and try to get them to vote with us, knowing already the votes were already there. As I mentioned I feel I was honest in that I never lied, if I did, someone please say so.I avoided questions but never lied. Wait , at the beginning I promised 2 other girls Final 4 ,which never happened and I have explained what happened there. I was relieved when Sadie won the final immunity because I didn't want to have to vote you out, it was hard enough voting AVH,Fraqr and Taps out.I think in the back of my mind, that is partlywhy I suggested everyone to vote me out when I was away for several weekdays. Do these things make me deserve to win more then Sadie..that is for you to decide....I guess in the end all you can do is look at the game and decide who outwitted and outplayed the best, because we both outlasted the same. I know a few tribe members thought Sadie was making all the decisions, but I feel we shared in them all...except for when the tribes were split. I could not share in the voting, but we did discuss how things were going and stratigized about the voting. So now it is up to all of you in jury to decide....

"For Shell -  You did an awesome job making it to the final. Why do you deserve to be chosen over Jill??"

Sadie:  To Chuck: my dear chuck, why do I deserve to be chosen over Jill? Does Jill know your story about blackie the snake?? A question with a question?? Chuck you deserve to be sitting here with me & Jill, around this fire that is in the pit?? as far as am concerned your a winner! I planned & played to win all my games in the rounds I fought hard not to be voted out when I was thrown to the bears that was a shock, I feel like I have out wited, some out played , & I have out last with Jill me & Jill made a pact, I could have voted her off when we were the final 3, but I kept my word that I had gave her, which I told you about this before the vote. So am sure you being voted off was not a shock. vote from your heart, & we will still be friends no matter what, which we already are! & Congrats Gramps!

Round 18 - Asia - Un-Cubed

This last round will take some skill

And complications test your will

What you need is to do your best

Out-wit, out-play, out-last the rest

Welcome back Naga.  Congratulations on making it to the final 3.  AVH was voted out in the last round and is now the 6th member of our jury.  One jury member to go.

This will be the final round for team Naga.  Your backgammon skill will come into play this round.  First things first...Jill, I'll take back the immunity necklace now.  Immunity is back up for grabs.

Backgammon is the oldest known recorded game in history.  Traditionally, it was believed to have originated in ancient Egypt, Sumeria or Mesopotamia in the Persian empire (present-day Iran, Iraq, and Syria).  However, more recent conclusive evidence indicates that the game originated on the eastern borders of Iran, near Afghanistan. The Iranian chancellor and thinker of the Sassanid Empire Bozorgmehr (6th century) is said to have created the ancient version of the game. In English, the word backgammon is believed to be derived from "back" plus the Middle English word "gamen" (game).
Tabula was a form of backgammon played by the ancient Romans. It was called tabula, which means 'table' or 'board', since it was played on a special board. Tabula bears some similarity to Egyptian Senet, which dates back to at least 3000 BCE.

The oldest backgammon board in the world along with 60 pieces has been unearthed beneath the rubble of the legendary Burnt City in Sistan-Baluchistan province, southeastern Iran.  Iranian archeologists working on the relics of the 5,000-year-old civilization argue this backgammon is much older than the one already discovered in Mesopotamia and their evidence is strong enough to claim the board game was first played in the Burnt City and then transferred to other civilizations.
"The board is rectangular and made of ebony, which did not grow in Sistan and merchants used to import it from India."  The board features an engraved serpent coiling around itself for 20 times, thus producing 20 slots for the game, more affectionately known in Persian as Nard. The engraving, artistically done, indicates artisans in the Burnt City were masters of the craft.  "The 60 pieces were also unearthed inside a terracotta vessel beside the board. They were made of common stones quarried in the city, including agate and turquoise."  Experts still wonder why they played the game with 60 pieces and are trying to discern its rules, but it at least shows it is 100-200 years older than the one discovered in Mesopotamia.
They are also intrigued that inhabitants of ancient civilizations, widely believed to be concerned with their daily survival, could afford to indulge in such luxuries as playing board games.

Daily survival and backgammon...daily gammon... :)

The doubling cube was believed to be introduced in New York in the 1920's by some unknown gambler which enhanced the element of skill in the game increasing its marketability, insuring its place as a popular pastime.

Let's get to today's challenge...

As I said earlier, your skill at backgammon will come into play this round.  Each of you is to play a 1 point game against our old friend AC-Clark.  You must win your game against AC-Clark in order to earn your log-in to the next games, which will already be in progress.   Once you have your log-in you will have 3 games running.  The twist here is that someone else will be playing anti-gammon with your games while you try to earn your log-in.  It is to your advantage to earn your log-in and get to your game as soon as possible before too much damage has occurred.  If you aren't winning your initial game (against AC-Clark) you may resign and start anew so that you don't waste too much time earning a win.  You may not resign your secondary games.  Those games are the counting games. Gammons and backgammons are in effect.  Best combined performance wins immunity.

Today's challenge:  Play and win multiple matches.

Aim: To win your games.  Pip count will determine the best performance.  Backgammons and gammons in effect.

Mode:  Each of you is to invite AC-Clark to a 1 point match.  (find him here)

Instructions: To report your win/loss and game numbers to Jadzia.

Reward:  No reward this round.

Proposed Time Limit (not etched in stone, but a goal)  October 26th 00:00GMT

Good luck Survivors!!

Round 17 Tribal Council

Round 17 Progress

The games are done and Jiljos wins immunity!!!

Everyone did really well playing against the famous AC Clarke.  In spite of AVH winning the reward pips, and Smyrnachuck winning his game by +35 pips, jiljos still managed the best performance with a +40 pip count. Nicely done Jill!  You get to take the immunity necklace home with you.  You are safe from the vote tonight.

Next up is Tribal Council. Please send me your votes by Saturday Oct. 15th. 00:00 GMT. Remember you cannot vote for Jiljos. Everyone else is fair game. Good luck Survivors!

Round 17 - Sri Lanka and the Mystery Scientist

Welcome back Naga.  Congratulations on making it to the final 4.  Fraqr was voted out last round and is now the 5th member of our jury.

AVH…I’ll take the immunity necklace back now.  Immunity is back up for grabs.

For today's challenge we visit Southern Asia and the island nation of Sri Lanka.

Southern Asia (aka Indian Subcontinent) includes the Republic of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. The Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka is a tropical island nation off the southeast coast of India.  The island was known in ancient times as Lanka, Lankadeepa (sanskrit for "resplendent land") and Selan.  During colonization, the island became known as Ceylon, a name still used on occasion.  It's shape and proximity to the Indian mainland have led some to refer to the island as India's Teardrop.

As with all Asian countries the history is long and tumultuous.  South Indian rulers attacked Sri Lanka on a number of occasions. Occasionally such invasions resulted in Tamil rule of the island for extended periods. Several Sinhala kings are noted for driving back the Tamil invasions and retaking the capital.

In the past few hundred years the island was occupied by the Portuguese, the Dutch and Great Britain.  Ceylon became part of the British Empire in 1815 and gained it's independence in 1948.  In 1972 it's name was changed to Sri Lanka.   Ethnic wars between the Tamils and the Sri Lankan government have raged for the past 2 decades and the  international anti-terrorist focus may have influenced the current ceasefire.

On December 26th, 2004 one of the deadliest natural disasters in modern history (the Indian Ocean earthquake) stuck off the western coast of Sumatra.  The subsequent tsunamis reportedly killed over 220,000 people around the rim of the Indian Ocean.  The impact on Sri Lanka was severe.  The south and east coasts were devastated by the 10-metre high tsunami, and tens of thousands died.

Sri Lanka has been known for it's tropical beauty.  The lowest gravitational field on Earth lies just off the coast of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is an archeological site in North Central Sri Lanka. It contains the ruins of an ancient palace complex, built during the reign of King Kasyapa (477AD - 495 AD). It is one of the 7 world heritage sites and is considered the 8th wonder of the world.

These are some of the attributes that attracted many famous people to reside in Sri Lanka.  One of the most famous is the British science fiction author Sir Arthur C Clarke, who has lived in Sri Lanka since 1956.  Clarke was not only a mystery/sci-fi writer, but was also a scientist.  He is famous for many things that we take for granted today.

Today's challenge:  Win your mysterious match.

Aim: To win your game.  Pip count will determine the best performance.  Backgammons and gammons in effect.

Mode:  Each of you is to invite our famous scientist to a 1 point game.  (find the scientist here)

Instructions: To report your win/loss and game number to Jadzia.

Reward:  Pay attention because this is complicated...

The mystery player's true identity is what you need to figure out.  In order to do that you must gain letters and descramble the name.  In order to get letters you must roll a set of doubles.  When you roll the doubles message me.  I will verify the doubles and then I will send you a trivia question about AC Clarke.  If you provide me with the correct answer, I will provide you with a letter.  If there are double letters you will get them both.  Example: if there are two e's in the name you will earn them both with the one question. I will tell you when you have all the letters.

You will get one guess per letter(s) earned.

The reward is for 20 extra pip in your favour in the final pip count of your game against AC Clark.

Good luck survivors!!

Deadline...TBA

Round 16 -Philippines - VolcArien

The games are done and the results are in. Most of you won your games. AVH managed a gammon and also had the greatest number of reward pips for a total pip count of +128. Way to go AVH!  You win immunity!

Next up is Tribal Council. Please send me your votes by Tuesday Oct. 4th. 00:00 GMT. Remember you cannot vote for AVH. Everyone else is fair game. Good luck Survivors!

Welcome back Naga.  Congratulations on making it to the final 5.  epo was voted out last round and is now the 4th member of our jury.

Sadie…I’ll take the immunity necklace back now.  Immunity is back up for grabs.

Today we are in the Republic of the Philippines.  This south eastern nation lies 1,210 km (750mi) away from mainland Asia and consists of 7,107 islands that form part of the Malay Archipelago. (see map blow)

The Philippines has been inhabited for thousands of years.  Aborigines collectively known as Negritos or Aetas crossed prehistoric land and ice bridges. Later, waves of Austronesian speaking migrants crossed from Southern China.  Chinese merchants arrived in the 8th century.  Powerful Buddhist and Hindu empires rose in Southeast Asia.  Essentially, the islands were autonomous.

In the 16th century the Spanish brought large armies and occupied and colonized the Philippines for 333 years.  In 1898 during the Spanish-American War, the United States occupied the Philippines.  Spain ceded the Philippines at that time for 20 million US dollars.  In that same year the Philippines unilaterally declared an independent Philippine Republic. This was followed by the Philippine-American war and consequent US occupation.  They were then occupied by the Japanese during WW2 and eventually were granted independence in 1946.

The following period was marred by civil unrest and corruptions during the unpopular dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos, ousted in 1986. Communist insurgency and Muslim separatists continue to be a major concern.

The country is astride the typhoon belt of the Western Pacific and is battered by about 19 typhoons per year.  Laying on the northwestern fringes of the Pacific Ring of Fire, the Philippines experiences frequent seismic and volcanic activities....

and you are about to be smoked by VolcArien

Today's challenge:  Each player will battle it out with VolcArien.

Aim: To win your game.  Pip count will determine the best performance.  Backgammons and gammons in effect.

Mode:  Each of you is to invite VolcArien to a 1 point game.  (find him here)

Instructions: To report to win/loss and game number to Jadzia.

Reward background Note:

Imelda Marcos, former First Lady of the Philippines, is known as the "Steel Butterfly" and was dubbed the "Muse of Manila" in her early days.  She was arrested for corruption and extortion during her husband's presidency...a question of nearly $700 million missing from the treasury.  On her exile to Hawaii in 1986, the opposition reportedly found 3,000 pairs of her shoes, among other interesting and expensive items.

Reward:  Shoes come in 2's.  For every 2 you roll, you will take 2 pips off your pip count.  Double 2's count for 8 pips.  Reward will be shared by all this round.

Deadline:  No deadline this round.

Round 15 - Tribal Council

Round 15 - Progress

Sadie wins Immunity for the second time in a row!  A very close game, beating epo by only 2 pips.  It turns out that she didn't need the bonus pips of 10 from Smyrnachuck that brought her total  pip count up to 12.  Way to go Sadie!

Next up is Tribal Council. Please send me your votes by Monday Sept 19th. 00:00 GMT. Remember you cannot vote for Sadielady. Everyone else is fair game. Good luck Survivors!

* * *

The games are done and the results are in.  Smyrnachuck wins reward for rolling an unreal amount of doubles in his games...16 in all!  Unfortunately Chuck, in spite of all the doubles you did not place high enough to out perform the others and will have to donate that reward.

On the other hand epo's collective pip count is a whopping +26, while Sadielady scored second with an impressive +15.  Nicely done ladies!  This puts you two as the top performers in this round.

You will now play each another in a one pointer for immunity.  Chuck...you must graciously donate the reward to the finalist of your choice.  Please post below on your choice.  Ladies...start your game.  You will have until Friday, Sept 16th, 00:00 GMT to complete your game...after which we will meet for Tribal Council.  Good luck!!

Smyrnachuck: I graciously donate my reward to Sadielady the Queen:)

SadieladyThank you very much Chuck !! :)

This gives Sadielady a 10 pip advantage against epo.

Round 15 - Double Trouble - Malaysia

Malaysia sits in east and west

Another milestone on your quest

Double games will be your test

Immunity for the one who's best

Welcome back Naga.  Congratulations on making it to the final 6.  Canuck Don was voted out last round and is the third member of the jury.

Sadie…I’ll take the immunity necklace back now.  Immunity is back up for grabs.

The Federation of Malaysia, or simply Malaysia is a country in Southeast Asia.  It consists of two distinct geographical regions divided by the South China Sea (see map below).

Map Malaysia

West Malaysia shares a land border on the north with Thailand and is connected by a causeway and a bridge on the south with Singapore.

East Malaysia, the north and western part of the island of Borneo, is bordered to the south by Indonesia and borders the Sultanate of Brunei on the east, south and west.

Malaysia has a long history.  It's earliest recorded Malay kingdoms grew from coastal city-ports established in the 10th century.  It now has a "constitutional elective" monarchy in which a king is selected for a 5 year term from among nine sultans. Although the Malaysian constitution theoretically guarantees religious freedom, by constitutional definition all Malays are Muslim.

Two regions...Two opponents...two parts to this round.

Today's challenge:  Each player will play two other players.  The two players with the best performance will play off for immunity.  The match-up was determined by dice roll.

Aim: To win your game.  Pip count will determine the best performance.  Backgammons and gammons in effect.

Mode: Play a one point game against your two opponents.  The player on the left will invite the two opponents on the right.

Fraqr v Sadie and Chuck

Epo v AVH and Sadie

Jill v AVH and Chuck

Instructions: To report to win/loss and game number to Jadzia.

Reward: Any doubles rolled in the game will count as reward doubles.  The player with the most doubles at the end of the first part of this round will win reward. If there is a tie in the number of doubles rolled, the sum of the doubles will determine the winner.

Reward = -10 from your pip count in the playoff game.

Here's the twist...if the player who wins reward does not make it to the final playoff, he or she must donate that reward to one of the finalists!

Good luck survivors!

Deadline:  Monday, Sept 12th, 00:00 GMT

Round 14 - Results

Sadielady wins immunity!

Congrats to Fraqr on her new baby! What amazes me is that she got home in time to finish her game on time!! Well done Fraqr. ;)

There were only two successful wins in this round...epo and Sadielady.  Canuck Don won reward with the most dble 2's, and shared the reward with jiljos, but alas it didn't take enough off his or her pip count to even approach Sadie's outstanding win against Jadzia Khan. Nice going Sadielady! You win immunity!

I will now send out the ballots for you to return to me. Remember...you cannot vote for Sadie. Voting should be finished by Wednesday August 31, 00:00 GMT. At which time we will hold Tribal Council. If all votes are in before then, TC will be sooner.  See you then.

Round 14 - Jadzia Khan - Siberia

Welcome back Naga.  Congratulations on making it to the final 7.  Tapistry was voted out last round and is the second member of the jury, joining Mr Hyde.

epo…I’ll take the immunity necklace back now.  Immunity is back up for grabs.

Today we visit the desolate and sparsely populated area of Northern Asia known as Siberia.

The name Siberia translates from the Russian word “Sibir” meaning “sleeping land”.  It is a vast region of Russia and northern Kazakhstan constituting almost all of northern Asia, with an area of over 9,653,000 sq kms.  It extends eastward from the Ural Mountains to the Pacific Ocean and southward from the Arctic Ocean to the hills of north-central Kazakhstan and the borders of both Mongolia and China.  All but the extreme south-western area of Siberia lies in Russia, and makes up about 75% of that country’s territory.  If Siberia were to secede from Russia it would be the world’s 2nd largest country, with only Canada being larger.

Siberia was occupied by many differing groups of nomads, such as the Yenets, the Nenets, the Uyghurs and the Huns.  It was conquered by the Mongols in the 13th century and eventually became the autonomous Siberian Khanate (a region under the rule of a Khan).  The Mongol Empire was also tremendously destructive.  It is estimated that 30 million people were killed during the reign of the Mongol Empire, and the population of China fell by half in only fifty years of Mongol rule and the Khanate.

The growing power of Russia to the west began to undermine the Khanate in the 16th century, and eventually Russian controlled areas extended to the Pacific.

"Jadzia Khan is fierce and fast

Against her sword you may not last

Fight to protect your territory

And you may live to tell the story"

Today’s Challenge:  Attempt to protect your territory from the fierce Jadzia Khan.  She is a skilled warrior and rarely takes prisoners.  Those she lets live may be exiled to the frozen wastelands of Siberia.  Those who defeat her will live to tell about it.

Aim: To win your game.  Best performance wins immunity.  Pip count will determine the best performance.  Backgammons and gammons in effect.

Mode:  Jadzia Khan will invite you to a 1 point battle. Bring your sword!

Reward double: 2

Reward = -8 from your pip count

Deadline: Monday, August 29, 00:00 GMT

Note on reward:  Reward will only be issued to one person who will share with one other.  The person to roll the most double 2’s will win reward. If there is a tie in double 2’s then the most double 5’s (opposite side of the dice) will determine who gets the reward 2’s.  If there is a further tie, most doubles will count.

Round 14 - Prelude

This will be a reward round. Please SECRETLY nominate someone to share reward with you...should you win it. The round will begin on Monday, so please message me with your nominations before then.

Round 13 - Tribal Council

Round 13  - Aftermath

Everyone has again finished early...gotta love that bot!

epo made the full prime closest to the 1 point in the least number of moves. Way to go epo! You win immunity!

Canuck Don should at least get honourable mention for having made two full primes in his game. That's pretty fancy footwork! Unfortunately, it was either too far away or too many moves to earn the big prize.

You can start thinking about the vote. Remember, epo has immunity and cannot be voted for. We may as well keep our original date for the vote.

Deadline: Tuesday, August 16th, 00:00 GMT

Survivor Asia - Round 13 - The Great Wall of China

Come on in Naga.  Mr Hyde was voted out last round and is the first member of the jury.  Congratulations to the final 8.   AVH...I'll take the immunity necklace back now.  Today's challenge is the Great Wall of China.

China’s Great Wall is included in lists of the "Seven Medieval Wonders of the World" but was of course not one of the classical Seven Wonders of the World recognized by the ancient Greeks.

The first major wall was built during the reign of the first emperor, the main emperor of the short-lived Qin dynasty (3rd century BC). This wall was not constructed as a single endeavour, but rather was created by the joining of several regional walls built by the warring states. It was located much further north than the current Great Wall, and very little remains of it. A defensive wall on the northern border was built and maintained by several dynasties at different times in Chinese history.

The Great Wall that can still be seen today was built during the Ming dynasty, on a much larger scale and with longer lasting materials than any wall that had been built before. The primary purpose of the wall was not to keep out people, who could scale the wall, but to insure that semi-nomadic people on the outside of the wall could not cross with their horses or return easily with stolen property.

There is a longstanding disagreement about how visible the wall is in space.  It is said that the Great Wall is the only man-made object visible from the moon. This myth has persisted, assuming urban legend status, sometimes even entering school textbooks. The Great Wall simply cannot be seen by the unaided eye from the distance of the moon. Even its visibility from near-earth orbit is questionable.

"Build a wall in one long band,

To keep the raiders from your land.

Build it close and not remote,

To keep you safe from the next vote."

Today's challenge...you will attempt to build a great wall to keep the raiders and thieves from your lands.  A successful wall will be built in the form of a full prime, closest to the 1 point (at least 2x6, see example below, but may have additional pips on the points).  In the event of a tie, the prime built in the least number of moves will win immunity.  Beyond that, a tie breaker will be used.  If no one achieves a full prime, then prime will win (at least 2x5) and so on until we have a winner.

Aim: To build a great wall (2x6)

Mode: Play a 1 ptr backgammon with the bot.

Instructions: To report to Jadzia on game and move number of their wall.

No reward this round.

Deadline:  Tuesday Aug 16th 00:00 GMT

Round 12 Tribal Council

Survivor Asia – Round 12 – Aftermath

It seems as though the Nagas were enthusiastic about their challenge and have finished days ahead of schedule.  One member out played all the others.

!!AVH WINS IMMUNITY !!

**places immunity necklace over AVH’s head**

Congratulations on winning the first personal immunity!

Congratulations to the players who were able to secure a mountain.

Reward was, for every double 3 rolled, your mountain would be moved one point further from the 1 point position.  Reward was to be shared with the secretly nominated players.  In this case, AVH earned 2 reward points for him and his nominees, and so did Smyrnachuck.  Unfortunately, neither of their nominees was able to build a mountain and share in the reward.

You will have a few days to think about how you are going to vote.  PLEASE NOTE: Those you vote off from now on will become part of the final jury.  Tribal Council public.  I will send out the ballots soon.

The deadline for voting (send to Jadzia) is Friday, August 5th, 00:00 GMT

Survivor Asia - Rd 12

Welcome to the new tribe the remaining 9 of you.  Congratulations on making

it this far in the game.  Now the physics of the game has been changed with
the merger.  You will no longer compete as a group but as individuals
competing for personal immunity.  The person with the immunity necklace
around their neck will be safe from votes, while all others will be fair
game.  Ok, are you ready for today's challenge?

What better place to begin the birth of the Naga tribe than at the top of
the world? The Himalaya is a mountain range in Asia, separating the Indian
subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau. By extension, it is also the name of
the massive mountain system which includes the Himalaya proper, the
Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, and a host of minor ranges extending from the
Pamir Knot. Together, the Himalayan mountain system is the planet's highest
and home to all 14 of the world's highest peaks, the Eight-thousanders,
including Mount Everest. Etymologically Himalaya means "abode of snow" in
Sanskrit ( from hima "snow", and aalaya "abode").  The Himalaya stretch across five nations - Pakistan, India, China, Bhutan, and Nepal.

For today's challenge, you will attempt to scale Sagarmatha (Sanskrit for "Forehead of the Sky"), better known as Mount Everest.  A successful scaling of the mountain will require you to construct a 1-2-3-2-1 (see picture below).  This pattern must be exactly as shown.  In the event of a tie, the person who constructed the mountain in the least move will win immunity.  And in the event of a tie in the number of moves, the person who created their mountain the furthest from their 1 pt will then win.  Anything beyond, a tie breaker will be used.

* * *

"Hail the new born dragon flying in the sky

Majestically it soars ever so high

Gone are the days of your old alliances

Time for new friendship and new alliances"

Aim: To build a mountain (1-2-3-2-1)

Mode: Play a 1 ptr backgammon with the bot

Instructions: To report to Jadzia on game and move number of their mountain

Reward doubles: 3

Reward: -1 move for their mountain

Survivor Asia - Rd12 Prelude

Ok come on in everybody, Sven Sveetheart got voted out in last night's tribal
council. He will be missed.

Ok, let's get on with the game. First things

first, Beruang, I need you to hand me back the immunity idol. You will no
longer covert this, instead you will want to have this personal immunity
necklace around your neck. Everybody, I want you all to drop your buffs
now... yes a merger!

*Hands out blue buffs*

No more Harimau, no more Beruang. Now you are all in 1 tribe and your tribe
name is Naga (meaning "Dragon").

Some other changes to the game, namely reward challenges. No more mystery
city and country. However, doubles are still in play. The person who gets
the most specified doubles will win reward. Again reward will be small but
may get you closer to the coveted personal immunity. And enjoying your
spoils alone is no fun, so before each round, please nominate 2 tribe
members you will like to take along with you. Do not post them openly but
send a private message to the host the names of the nominated. These 2 that
you nominated will get to enjoy the same rewards as the reward winner

Questions? If none, please nominate via PERSONAL MESSAGE the 2 players you
want to take with you on reward should you win it.

Nomination Deadline: 28 July (Thursday) 00:00GMT

Round 11 Aftermath

Two extensions were requested and granted making this round particularly long.  However, the snake has had it's fill.  Some games were not completed (or not reported) and so the longest snake seen in the game will count for that team.  Here are the results:

12 Sadie Jiljos 10
10 Tapistry Fraqr 8
7 epo Sven 10
9 Canuck Chuck 5
7 Hyde AVH 10

Harimau, once again I will see you at Tribal Council.

Round 11 notes:

Due to nature of game, an extension has been granted.
New deadline: Sunday 17 July 00:00GMT

hope this will give you sufficient time for your snake.

i hope most of you have finished with your snake. for the benefit of those still in the coil of things you have til Friday 22th July 00:00GMT to completessss....

Survivor Asia - Rd 11 Things That Go Hiss

First thing's first, Beruang, I will take the immunity idol back now.
Immunity! Back up for grabs. NoahTall was voted out in the last tribal
council.

Today, we will move across Thailand's border.  Upon achieving independence
in 1948, the country became known as the "Union of Burma", derived from the
British spelling of present-day Myanmar. In 1989, the ruling military
government renamed the country "The Union of Myanmar". The name Union of
Myanmar is recognized by the United Nations, but several countries including
the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada refer to Myanmar as Burma.
Myanmar derives from the Burmese name Myanma naingandaw, which literally
translates as "country of Myanmar".  Myanmar is bordered by Bangladesh,
China, India, Laos, Thailand, Bay of Bengal, and the Andaman Sea.

Python molurus bivittatus, also commonly known as Burmese python, is one of
the largest of all snakes, growing up to 25 feet, usually 20 and weighing up
to 190 pounds.  They lack an outer and middle ear and are therefore deaf to
airborne sounds of all but the lowest frequencies, and is also mute or at
best can utter a hissing sound by forcing air through the larynx. Their
sense of smell is the most acute sense. The tongue is flicked out and in
carrying scent particles to the Jacobson's organ in the roof of the mouth.
The Burmese python is carnivorous, feeding on mammals and birds. The snake
uses its sharp backward pointing teeth to seize its prey. It then wraps its
powerful body two or more times around the prey at the same time contracting
its muscles, killing the prey by asphyxiation.

For today's challenge, you will, like the Burmese python, attempt to squeeze
the life out of your opponent. Do so by creating, as long as you can, a string
of consecutive blots.  (see pic of my pet Albert going for the kill of the
poor blue mouse huddling in the corner).  You have been paired according to
your ratings.  Wins will be awarded to the person who can uncoil a longer
snake than his/her opponent's.  Tribe with most wins will win immunity!

"Flick your tongue, and taste the air
Make the board your python's lair

Their lungs?  Air will diminished!
Their lives?  Slowly extinguished!"

Aim: To have a longer STRING of CONSECUTIVE BLOTS than your opponent (see
List)

Mode: to play a 1 ptr nack with your opponent.

**HISS LIST**

***BERUANG WINS IMMUNITY!!***

Apparently the 2 chosen strongest and baddest did not live up to their reputation, winning only 40% and 20% of their games.

Well Harimau, I will see you all at tribal council where you will vote off one of your own.

Survivor Asia - Rd 10 Muay Thai

First thing's first, Beruang, I will take the immunity idol back now. Immunity! Back up for grabs. robbob was voted out in the last tribal council.
A unified Thai kingdom was established in the mid-14th century. Known as Siam until 1939, Thailand is the only Southeast Asian country never to have been taken over by a European power. A bloodless revolution in 1932 led to a constitutional monarchy. In alliance with Japan during World War II, Thailand became a US ally following the conflict.

Occupying a central position on the Southeast Asia peninsula, Thailand is bordered by Myanmar on the west and northwest, by Laos on the north and east (the Mekong River forms much of the line), by Cambodia on the southeast, and by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia on the south.

Traditional Muay Thai has a long history in Thailand as a martial art used by the military. Muay Thai is referred to as "The Science of Eight Limbs", as the hands, feet, elbows and knees are all used extensively in this art.

For today's challenge. I have asked you to nominate your strongest, baddest and meanest tribe member. He/She will face the members of the opposing tribe, making it 5 rounds of Muay Thai for the chosen. The one with the most wins win immunity for their tribe. In the event of a tie in the number of wins, the one with the quickest despatch in any of the wins will be the winner. In the rare case that the so called "strongest, baddest and meanest tribe member" fail to even win a single round, the one who lasted the longest in any of the rounds will then be the winner.

Beruang you have chosen MrHyde, and Harimau you have chosen SMYRNACHUCK. Beruang as you have 1 member less, MrHyde will make up the 5th opponent that Harimau's SMYRNACHUCK will spar.

"Fight to the last, you have been chosen

STRONGET ...BADDEST, the tribe has spoken

Knock all of your opponents out cold

Losing tribe-vote one from your own fold"

Mode: All Harimau save SMYRNACHUCK will play a 1 ptr backgammon with MrHyde and all Beruang including MrHyde will play a 1 ptr backgammon with SMYRNACHUCK

Aim: To despatch your opponents as quickly as possible

Instructions: Chosen to report to me when game is done.

Deadline: Wednesday 6th July 00:00 GMT

Reward: None

Other Note: If your opponent is not moving, please report to me.

*** Round 9 Aftermath ***

After a tense tie-breaker, Canuck Don managed to shut out jiljos from constructing her tower.
http://www.dailygammon.com/bg/game/863189/1/list

Hence a tower of 6 stories was enough to secure immunity for Beruang.

Harimau, I will see you at tribal council.

Deadline for voting : Thursday 23 June 00:00 GMT

***

All games are done save Chuck vs epo. As everyone is aware, the highest towers are built by both Berunag's Canuck Don and Harimau's jiljos. Congrats to both survivors. As there is a tie for tribe immunity, Canuck Don and jiljos will square off in a 1 ptr to see who can duplicate their 13 storey tower.

TIE BREAK : Canuck Don vs jiljos (1ptr backgammon)

Construct tower at 1 pt, player with tallest tower wins immunity for his/her tribe.

Deadline : Monday 20 June 00:00 GMT

Instructions: To report move number of highest tower position to Arien.

Survivor Asia - Rd 9 Standing Tall

Taiwan's Tower 101

Come on in Beruang. Paulineee was edged out in the last tribal council.
Harimau I will take that back now. Immunity, back up for grabs.

After Japan's defeat at the end of World War II in 1945, Taiwan was turned
over to the Republic of China and governed under a military administration.
In 1949, upon losing the Chinese Civil War to the Communist Party of China,
the ruling Kuomintang (KMT) retreated from mainland China and moved the ROC
government to Taipei, Taiwan's largest city, while continuing to claim
sovereignty over all of China and Mongolia. On the mainland, the Communists
established the People's Republic of China, claiming to be the successor
state of both the mainland and Taiwan and portraying the ROC government on
Taiwan as an illegitimate entity.

Taiwan is bounded to the east by the Pacific Ocean, to the south by the
South China Sea, to the west by the Taiwan Strait, and to the north by the
East China Sea. The island is 245 miles long and 90 miles wide and consists
of steep mountains covered by tropical and subtropical vegetation.

Taipei 101 is a massive 60-foot spire inspired by Taiwan's native bamboo
plant, Taipei 101 Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the world. The
design of Taipei 101 borrows heavily from Chinese culture. Both the
building's interior and exterior incorporate the Chinese pagoda form and the
shape of bamboo flowers. The lucky number eight, which means blooming or
success, is represented by the eight clearly delineated exterior sections of
the building.

For today's challenge. Stack up your pips at point 1, the tribe whose
member can build the highest tower will win immunity.

"Taiwan's tower 101

Duplicate it at point one

The highest tower is what you want

Immunity is what you'll flaunt"

Mode: Play a 1 ptr backgammon with randomly drawn opponent (see list)

First and foremost, I will take that back now Harimau. Immunity is back up for grabs. TraceRacing quit the last round, so no tribal council for Beruang.

The last round proved to be pretty eventful, but the twists to Rd 7:Amazing Race is not over just yet...

Now, I need NoahTall, and robbob to come forward, drop your buffs and take these *Hands out YELLOW BUFFS*
Yes, both of you are now part of the Harimau tribe, you can join your new
tribe mates.

Now in my hand, I have 2 red buffs, 2 of you from Harimau will become Beruang. The 2 of you are Tapistry *Hands her red buff* and SadieLady *Hands her the other red buff*
Why you have been singled out is that the 4 of you are the slowest in the
last round, deemed as socially inept. Now to hone your social skills with
your new found tribe. Good luck!

Now back to business...

Mongolia is a landlocked nation in central Asia, bordered by Russia to the
north and the People's Republic of China to the south. It was the centre of
the Mongol Empire of the 13th century, but was ruled by the Chinese Qing
dynasty from the end of the 17th century until an independent government was
again formed with Soviet assistance in 1921. After the fall of the Soviet
Union, Mongolia became a democracy. The 18th largest country in the world,
Mongolia has very little arable land: much of its area is grassland, with
mountains in the north and west and the Gobi Desert in the south. Most of
the population are nomadic or semi-nomadic Lamaist Buddhists of the Mongol
ethnicity.
Genghis Khan, born Temujin, is probably the most renowned Mongol. Genghis
Khan and his descendants managed to create the largest contiguous empire in
history in just under 200 years, controlling most of Eurasian continent or
half of the known world as of today's Eastern Europe, Middle East, Central,
North, East and Southeast Asia.

For today's challenge, master up enough warriors (will be known as
StormTroopers, to commemorate the latest Star Wars movie ROTS) and face off
with your opposing tribe. There are 2 parts to this challenge.

1. Mastering of Storm Troopers - each tribe will play a total of 20 1 ptr
games against the bot. Games will be decided by Rd 7 order, see list below.
For every win, the pip count is added to your Storm Pottery, gammon and
backgammon are in play for scoring. (Should the bot resign, you will not
get gammon or backgammon multiplicators, but you will have both the bots,
as well as your pip count added.) Losses do not count, nor will it subtract
from your Storm Pottery.

2. At the end of the 20 games, total pip count in your Storm Pottery will be
divided by 10 and rounded down, that will give you the number of
Storm Troopers. You then have to elect 1 from your tribe to play against the bot. Results do not matter. The number of Storm Troopers will determine
the number of dice rolls for your tribe. Then we will have a dice version
of the card game "War" http://www.pagat.com/war/war.html

Example:

B : 5 StormTroopers,  H : 3 StormTroopers

1 person elected to play the bot

B Dice rolls (first 5 dice rolls as they have 5 StormTroopers)

1-1

5-4

3-2

2-2

6-5

H Dice rolls (only first 3 dice rolls as they have only 3 StormTroopers)

3-2

6-6

5-5

Both the rolls are compared numerically

1-1(B) vs 3-2(H) = 2 vs 5 - H Wins

5-4(B) vs 6-6(H) - H Wins

3-2(B) vs 5-5(H) - H wins

subsequent 2 rolls are won by B because H has got none

total score is B:2, H:3 making H the winner for immunity.

"Build your army as you play

This time team work is the way.

One will lead the trooper's shout.

One will then be voted out."

Mode : See list for number of 1 ptr backgammon games to be played against
the bot

Paulineee (1-23) - 4 games

MrHyde (1-27) - 4 games

Epo (2-15) - 3 games

Canuck Don (2-16) - 3 games

**Tapistry (4-3) - 3 games

**SadieLady (4-4) 3 games

---

Sven Sveetheart (2-26) - 3 games

AVH (2-28) - 3 games

Jiljos (3-7) - 3 games

Fraqr (3-10) - 3 games

SMYRNACHUCK (3-36) - 3 games

**NoahTall (2-24) - 3 games

**robbob (3-5) - 2 games

(All newcomers are added to the bottom of the tribe list)

Aim : To win the bot to add pips to your Storm Pottery

Deadline : 3 June (Friday) 00:00 GMT

Instructions : Report game number to me when completed

Reward Challenge : Instant Pips

Reward Doubles : For this round, there is no double. As long as the total
of your dice show 7 (ie 6-1, 5-2, 4-3, etc) you instantly gain +3 pips to
your Storm Pottery.

For Beruang, msg me game number for these, Harimau to msg Jadzia

**If you think the rules are not fair, voice out now and we will discuss, if
you get your game underway, I take it that you are agreeable to the rules
and rewards.

Round 7  Amazing Race :Singapore

First thing's first, I need you NoahTall and Sven Sveetheart to hand back
your personal immunity. Tribe immunity back up for grabs in this round.

Allow me to play host for this round...

Singapore is an island city-state in Southeast Asia, situated on the
southern tip of Malay Peninsula, south of the state of Johor of Peninsular
Malaysia and north of the Indonesian islands of Riau.  It is located at one
of the crossroads of the world. Singapore's strategic position has helped it
grow into a major centre for trade, communications, and tourism.

Singapore is the second most densely populated independent country in the
world, though small at around four million, is a multiracial society,
consisting of Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians. With this mixture of
people, Singapore is also a mixture of religions. Its skyline boasts the
distinctive minarets of mosques, spires of gothic cathedrals, intricate
figurines of Hindu temples, and distinctive roof architecture of Chinese
temples. The main religions are Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, and Hinduism.
The official languages of Singapore are English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil.

For today's immunity challenge, because it is a
multi-racial/religious/language society, you need to soak up all the
different cultures. In order to do so, you need to visit the 4 communities.
They are situated all over the backgammon board on points 3, 10, 15, 22.
Get exactly 3 pips on each of these to score a heart.

Each of these 4 points can only be scored once, and should you miss any of
them, you are allowed to play another game to score on the eluded points.
You can try as many games as you like. The tribe with the most hearts
scored wins immunity. In the event of a tie, the number of games played
will determine the winner.

The 4 pillars represent four races
That will put you through the paces
Earn a heart but not for fun
When you get 4 you will be done

Mode: Play a 1ptr BACKGAMMON against the bot

Aim: To get exactly 3 pips on points 3, 10, 15, 22 to score a heart. Tribe
with most hearts wins immunity

Deadline: 25 May (Wednesday) 00:00 GMT

Instructions: To report game number and move number to me when scored.

Reward Challenge: Mystery city and country

Reward Doubles: 4 (as you can play countless games)

Reward: +1 heart awarded to winning tribe

When you get your doubles, message me the game number and move number to
receive your assigned letter.

If the bot resigns, too bad. Simply try again.

Round 6 Aftermath

After some slick moves, some normal moves, and a very UNLUCKY move, here are the results of round 6:  See the grid below.  Winners of immunity in red.

It is time to vote...

Survivor Asia - Round 6 Double Trouble: Cambodia

Come on in Harimau. Beruang taking a good look at the new Harimau tribe.
Hubi voted off the last tribal council.  Berunang, I'll take the idol.
Tribe immunity is not what you covet in this round, but 2 personal
immunity, 1 for each tribe, is up for grabs.

Cambodia, country in Southeast Asia, also known as Kampuchea. More
than a thousand years ago, Cambodia was the center of the Khmer
(Cambodian) kingdom of Angkor, a great empire that dominated Southeast
Asia for 600 years. A monarchy since ancient times, Cambodia was a
French protectorate from 1863 to 1953. A republic replaced the
monarchy in 1970, and in 1975 a Communist regime known as the Khmer
Rouge took power, naming the country Democratic Kampuchea.

Cambodia is bound on the northeast by Laos, on the east and southeast by

Vietnam, on the west and northwest by Thailand, and on the southwest
by the Gulf of Thailand (Siam). The country's capital and largest city
is Phnom Penh.

Three decades of war in Cambodia have left scars in many forms
throughout the country. Unfortunately, one of the most lasting
legacies of the conflicts continues to claim new victims daily. Land
mines, laid by the Khmer Rouge, the Heng Samrin and Hun Sen regimes,
the Vietnamese, the KPNLF, and the Sihanoukists litter the
countryside.

Because Harimau won the reward in RD 5, Harimau's reward is in picking
their opponent for this round.  Please choose either to face Jadzia or
me.

Today's challenge.  To try to win the game in as few moves as possible. Winners
from both tribes will win personal immunity.  In the event that no one
from the tribe wins their game, the one with the least pip count will
be the winner.  If everyone gets blown out of the game (see reward),
the person who survives longest in terms of moves wins immunity.

"quickly cross but watch your step
2 double 4s is all you get
tiptoe fastest in your game
immunity for you to stay in the game"

Mode: Play a 1ptr BACKGAMMON against Jadziarien

Aim: To win the game in the least moves.  A winner from each tribe will
earn personal immunity.

Deadline: 10 May (Monday) 00:00 GMT

Instructions: To report game number to me when completed

Reward Challenge: Anti-Reward

Reward Doubles: 4

Reward: Everyone starts with 2 lives, and for every double 4 you
roll, you lose 1 life.  Roll 2 sets of double 4's, and you are considered blown out of the game.

This round is dedicated to those who have been killed, or maimed by landmines.  Many of them are not soldiers, but women, children and domestic or wild animals.  For more information go here.

Japan, island nation in East Asia, located in the North Pacific Ocean off
the coast of the Asian continent. Japan comprises the four main islands of
Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, in addition to numerous smaller
islands. The Japanese call their country Nihon or Nippon, which means
"origin of the sun". Sumo wrestling is an ancient sport dating back at

Survivor Asia - Round 3 Race For Rice

Come on in Beruang. Harimau taking a good look at the new Beruang
tribe. Graham voted off in the last tribal council.

Today we will be racing for rice. Food, as you know, is an important
commodity in the game of survivor, so you would want to gain as much
grains of rice as you can. At the end of the race the tribe with the
most number of grains of rice wins immunity.

Harimau, you have one extra member.  Choose someone to sit out the next
challenge. A person cannot sit out back to back challenges. You
have chosen to sit Sadielady out.

"Now we are talking about what to eat
One man's poison is another man's meat
Gain as much rice is what you aspire
Granary balance determines how many to retire"

Mode : Play a 1 pointer against the bot (gb001).
Aim : For every game won, the pip count (rice grain) will be added to
your granary. Lose, and your losing rice grains will be credited to
your other tribe's granary. (Backgammon will count as triple and
gammon a double of the pip counts)

Deadline : 05 April 00:00 GMT
Instructions : To report the game number to me when completed.

Reward Doubles: 1

Get double 1's and you instantly gain +10 rice grains to your tribe's granary.

rice or less will vote 1 member off, while a difference of above 100

Survivor Asia - Round 2 Building Blocks of Shelter and Friendship

After trekking through the jungle, the survivors finally reach their stretch

of beach that they will call home for the next few weeks. Like ants in a

colony, they promptly got down to various tasks that required immediate

attention. A group was off with map in hand to search for the water point.

Another group was trying to create fire with sticks and stones. And another

was off looking for food. But they totally forgot about the shelter.

"On your new campsite you wonder

Who starts the fire? Who collects the water?

Start on your shelter by building blocks

Losing tribe will decide who to be dock"

Mode : Play a 1 ptr against the bot

Aim : To create blocks, that is to form a 3-3-3 (see picture). Tribe with

most blocks wins immunity.

Deadline : 24 March 00:00 GMT

Instructions : To report the game number to me when completed

Reward Doubles : 3 and 4

The team that wins the reward challenge wins an extra block.

Survivor Asia - Reward Challenges

Jadz and I will be incorporating reward challenges into the elimination games. How does it work? Well read on...

We will decide on a mystery city/province/capital of an Asian country.

Each player in the tribe will be assigned a letter/s (or even a blank space), depending on the mystery name. So how does 1 get the letters that are assigned to them? By getting 1 of the pre-determined doubles; ie, if the predetermined doubles are 1 and 3, during the course of your game you get either/both a double 1 or double 3 in your rolls, you will get the letter that is assigned to you.

The tribe will then have to get all the letters won, and try to form the mystery name. The first team to message me the mystery name and country wins reward.

"Want to know what you are playing for?" Winning the reward challenge, will get you get a slight advantage in the elimination round (if we are playing for most pips, you may get +10pips etc)

In a nutshell

- Get at least 1 of the predetermined doubles to get your letter

- Confer with your tribe members to form the mystery name

- Appoint someone to message me the mystery name and the Asian country

The first tribe to give me both the mystery name and Asian country correctly wins reward.

Survivor Asia - Rd1 Aftermath

And with the last of the remaining survivors swimming to shore from the crimson sea, so ends a bloody round 1. A deathly silence fills the air over the beach, only broken with the occassional splashing from the hammerheads, as the remaining survivors each say a soft prayer for the fallen comrades or "Thank God it wasnt me".

"Now you made it to the campsite, 20 of you,

different background different genders,

and it is time for the conchs to decide,

who divides and who conquers?"

Higher up on the beach, the 2 conchs could be found in the hands of Canuck Don and random. Canuck was the first to lay claim. Now it is time to divide the rest of the survivors into 2 tribes. (This will be done via "Divide and Conquer" shown in Vanuatu, one will divide the survivors into 2 groups, while the other chooses which group he will join). Canuck has selected "Conquer", hence random will have to "Divide".

The remaining survivors

84 Tapistry

76 MrHyde

70 robbob

55 Graham Loveless

54 jiljos

23 greekfrk

-1 SMYRNACHUCK

-1 SPORTS JUNKIE

-4 Sadielady

-6 Paulineee

-6 Dodie

-7 AVH

-8 TraceRacing

-10 epo

random: to divide these 18 into 2 groups (the numbers infront are the score that they got in Rd1). remember to divide them up equally for you may join that team.

*Other Stuff: I like to thank all the other people who participated but didnt make it past round 1. thank you all for reporting of your scores and completing your games promptly. i also like to thank people who didnt sign up and yet reported their scores.

r a n d o m replies:

I could have taken the positions, and used them to create two teams that were (based on the results of the 1pt bot matches) balanced.

But no. I want something more... random!

Therefore, I've pulled names out of a hat of sorts. If that means all the best players are in one team, and all the worst are in the other, then no doubt Canuck Don will have the good grace and charm to dump me in with the other also-rans :)

Team 1: Noah Tall, Mr Hyde, robbob, Graham Loveless, Greekfrk, paulineee, Dodie, TraceRacing, epo

Team 2: Tapistry, Jiljos, Sven Sveetheart, hubi, Fraqr, SMYRNACHUCK, SPORTS JUNKIE, sadielady, AVH

All that remains is to wait for Don's selection, and to thank Arien for coming up with an entertaining and intelligent way of getting this tourney off the ground.

Cancuck Don Replies:

After a long and thoughtful consideration....

Okay, basically, I looked at the two lists, found a few players on one of them who have handed me my backside without effort, and thought that might be a sign of strength. Not quite as random as r a n d o m, but it's not exactly a Excel spreadsheet, either.

Team two, best of luck to you. Team one, let's go find ourselves a comfortable stretch of Asian beachfront.

Your tribe name will be Beruang (Bear) and your members are:

Canuck Don, Noah Tall, Mr Hyde, robbob, Graham Loveless, Greekfrk, paulineee, Dodie, TraceRacing, and epo

Your tribe name will be Harimau (Tiger) and your members are:

random, Tapistry, Jiljos, Sven Sveetheart, hubi, Fraqr, SMYRNACHUCK, SPORTS JUNKIE, sadielady, and AVH

Survivor Asia - Beginnings and Round 1

Asia, the largest of the earth's seven continents. With outlying islands, it covers an estimated 44,936,000 sq km (17,350,000 sq mi), or about one-third of the world's total land area. Its peoples account for three-fifths of the world's population.

Today our castaways begin their journey into Asia.

Who can outwit? Outplay? And Outlast?

20 castaways.... some stowaways

18 weeks...

1 SURVIVOR!!!

Round 1 - Scramble to Safety

Having the boats that they were on capsizing, the survivors suddenly find themselves out in the sea together with the stowaways. In the distance, a pristine beach beckons. The first 2 to reach the beach wins a conch. The next 18 will make up the rest of the castaways, while the remaining will be fodder for the many hammerhead sharks that patrol the coastline.
